Twilight Films in Chronological Order
The Twilight saga is easy to follow as the films were released yearly with no gaps. Here’s a recap of every Twilight film:
1.Twilight
The first movie of the Twilight Saga, Twilight, was released in 2008. It tells the story of Bella who moves to a small town in Washington, Folks with her father, Charlie, who’s a police chief. Bella meets Edward, a mysterious student who turns out to be a hundred-year-old vampire. It turns out Bella’s blood is irresistible to Edward and other vampires in the area.
In spite of these conflicts, Bella and Edward fall in love, and Bella is drawn to a world of supernatural beings, as another clan marks Bella as a target. Now, it is up to the Cullens to protect Bella from other vampires.
2.The Twilight Saga: New Moon
In the second part of the story, called New Moon, Edward leaves town with the other Cullens to try and protect Bella from harm. This leaves Bella very sad and depressed, but she eventually recovers somewhat with the help of her friend Jacob. Bella and Jacob’s friendship grows stronger, but she still longs for Edward. Eventually, Bella discovers that Jacob is a werewolf who belongs to the Quileute tribe.
Vampires and werewolves have been natural enemies for centuries. However, the tribe and Cullens have a peace covenant.
One thing leads to another, and Bella finally meets Edward towards the end of the film and is introduced to Volturi – the ruling class of vampire elites who set rules for the vampire society. Bella is given an ultimatum – either be killed or turned as she knows too much about vampires.
3.The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
In the next installment, Eclipse, Bella and Edward find themselves at loggerheads. Edward agrees to turn Bella into a vampire but only if she marries him. Meanwhile, the vampire Victoria is back in Forks with an army of newborn vampires, intending to kill the Cullens. The Cullens and werewolves agree to join forces to fight the army of newborn vampires. Amidst all the fighting, Jacob learning of Bella’s decision to marry Edward and turn into a vampire.
4.The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1
The fourth film, Breaking Dawn Part 1 was released in 2011, a few months after the events of Eclipse. In this movie, Edward and Bella are finally getting married.
On their honeymoon, Bella becomes pregnant with a vampire-hybrid child that could possibly kill her. When Jacob and the werewolf tribe find out about the baby, they decide to eradicate the threat as no one is sure what the child will grow up to be.
After Bella gives birth to her baby girl, Renesmee, Jacob becomes attached to her after a process called imprinting. This makes him her protector and the werewolves can’t harm her as it’s against their rules to hurt soulmates. Bella then has a hard time adjusting to her new life as Edward tries to turn her into a vampire.
5.The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2
Breaking Dawn Part 2 begins with Bella awakening as a vampire. She takes to her new form surprisingly well, and is unfazed by the changes in her body. However, the Volturi soon catch wind of her existence and believe that she is an ‘Immortal Child’ – a human baby who has been turned into a vampire. This is considered taboo by their standards.
In order to prevent the Volturi from destroying Renesme, Edward and Bella recruit allies and friends to help them fight back. Alice is eventually able to change the Volturi’s mind by showing them what would happen if they don’t relent.
