When it comes to superheroes, there are only two companies that come to mind, DC and Marvel. Both of them have their unique superheroes that either have superpowers or they don’t and they are still deemed as superheroes.
However, one thing in common is that all of them have amazing stories, something that you would love to follow. The best thing is that nearly all of these superheroes have a live-action adaptation as a movie or a show that you can watch online.
To stream flawlessly, you just need to make sure that you have the kind of internet connection that doesn’t give up on you while you are watching a TV show or a movie. In that case, it would be smart to look into Xfinity Internet Bundles that will not only give you an internet connection but will also hook you up with a TV service as well! Once that is out of the way, you can watch all the DC and Marvel movies and TV shows that you wish to watch!
However, today we will be keeping our focus on the DC Universe and the weirdly dark theme that it has. If you put Marvel and DC side by side, you would see how significantly dark DC is. DC has a collection of brilliant heroes that we have been watching ever since we were kids, so we will be talking about some of the best heroes DC has given us till now. Make sure you read all the way to the end for a better insight.
Table of Contents
Batman
It was pretty understood that we would start this list off with Batman, wasn’t it? Batman’s actual name is Bruce Wayne, a billionaire who lives in Gotham City and is the owner of Wayne Enterprises. Bruce was very young when his parents were murdered in front of him, one of the many reasons why he chose to become Batman.
The best part about Batman is that he has no superpowers. Instead, he’s just very rich and has a very scientific mind which allows him to create his own gadgets that aid him in combat. He is also a very skilled fighter who knows many forms of martial arts. His greatest weapon is the fear that he induces in his enemies.
Nightwing
Nightwing is the kind of hero who is really good but he doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves, making him a criminally underrated hero in the DC Universe. Nightwing’s actual name is Dick Grayson and he started his journey as Robin, Batman’s sidekick. However, Batman eventually replaces Dick with Jason Todd as the next Robin, and Dick Grayson goes on to become his own hero under the name of Nightwing.
The only live-action adaptation that we have seen till now is in the show called Titans which starts off as Robin but eventually, he transitions into Nightwing so that he could lead the Teen Titans and fight against villains such as Red Hood and Deathstroke. Since Nightwing is young, it makes him an agile hero and there are times when Dick even offers to help Batman out despite him not being Robin anymore but him helping as Nightwing instead.
Damian Wayne
You would be surprised to know that even Batman’s own son becomes Robin at one point. During his adventures, Batman meets Talia Al’Ghul, the daughter of the supervillain and assassin R’as Al’Ghul. Batman and Talia hit it off and unknown to Batman, both of them have a son together whom Talia trains to become the next heir. She names her son Damian and trains him to become a trained assassin so that he can become a part of the League of Assassins too.
When Damian meets his father, Bruce, he is impressed by what Batman does and decides to become his next sidekick and the last Robin. The two of them form a great duo.
Shazam
Something other than the world of Batman, another interesting superhero in the DC Universe is Shazam. What’s different about the superhero is that he is actually a 15-year-old boy! Billy Batson receives his powers from mythical Egyptian Gods that give him the ability to turn into an adult superhero after he says the word “Shazam!”
With the mind of a teenager and the body of a superhero with super strength and abilities such as flying, the character is one of the best that DC has given us. The Shazam movie is definitely the best flick to watch if you are looking for a movie to watch with your family.
Ending Note
While DC and Marvel may compete head-to-head with each other, some characters give DC superiority over Marvel. Some of these superheroes have no powers at all and even if they do, they are unique!
